Position Summary
Customer Service Representatives at Stop & Stor’s Self Storage Staten Island locations will focus on creating the best possible experience for our current and potential customers both on the phone and in person; by recommending solutions for their moving and storage needs.
Daily Job Functions for Customer Service Representatives
- Develop customer service relationships by listening to prospective customers and assessing their storage needs in person and over the phone.
- Read, understand and explain contracts, lease agreements and associated fees to customers.
- Prepare, process and review contracts and other documents.
- Conduct guided facility tours to help customers select an appropriate storage unit.
- Service customers in viewing account balances, processing payments, and answering billing inquiries.
- Alert Corporate management about customer concerns and complaints.
- Help maintain up-to-date customer information in the computer system.
- Help create reports for the Corporate office and conduct merchandise inventory.
- Conduct daily physical inspections to ensure the facility meets company standards for safety and cleanliness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED – college degree a plus
- 2 years of customer service experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Self-storage experience preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Basic math aptitude
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to occasionally lift and move facility-related objects up to 50 pounds.
