Job Title: Part-Time MD - Family Medicine/Internal Medicine

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time MD specializing in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine to join our team at a combined Primary Care and Urgent Care clinic located in Decatur, GA. The physician will provide high-quality care for a diverse patient population, including routine primary care services and urgent care interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Care:
Perform comprehensive medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic health conditions.
Develop and implement personalized care plans, focusing on disease prevention and health promotion.
Manage chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma.
Conduct annual physical exams, wellness check-ups, and screenings.
Provide vaccinations, including flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
Offer counseling on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and mental health.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and EKGs.
Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care for complex cases.
Urgent Care:
Evaluate and treat non-life-threatening conditions such as infections, fractures, lacerations, and sprains.
Perform minor procedures, such as suturing, wound care, abscess drainage, and splinting.
Provide rapid care for acute illnesses like colds, flu, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
Address urgent conditions such as allergic reactions, dehydration (with IV therapy), and minor injuries.
Ensure timely follow-up care and referrals to specialists or emergency services when needed.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with clinic standards and regulations.
Use Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to document patient encounters.
Ensure adherence to clinic protocols and best practices for patient safety and quality care.
Patient Education and Communication:
Communicate effectively with patients, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans.
Educate patients on preventive health measures and the management of chronic diseases.
Provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse population, including Spanish-speaking patients.

Qualifications:

Medical Degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Active medical license in Georgia.
Experience in both primary care and urgent care settings is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in EPIC as EMR system.
