Position Summary
The Inpatient Float Psychiatrist provides inpatient psychiatric care with the multidisciplinary team in treatment of patients in Maine Behavioral Healthcare’s inpatient units. Float pool psychiatrists cover the role of an inpatient psychiatrist for vacations and expected or unexpected absences. Their duties are the same as an inpatient psychiatrist during their time of coverage, directing the treatment team and planning pharmacologic and therapeutic interventions.
The Psychiatrist provides the medical leadership to the multidisciplinary teams in the treatment of patients in the Maine Behavioral Healthcare continuum of care. He/She directs the treatment team planning process pharmacologic and therapeutic interventions.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School. Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
License/Certifications: Current and valid licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence. Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry. Current DEA Registration Certificate.
Experience: 3+ years’ experience inclusive residency and/or fellowship training.
