SENIOR STRUCTURAL/BRIDGE ENGINEER
Duties and ResponsibilitiesWe are currently initiating a search for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our growing Transportation and Infrastructure Team.This candidate shall:

Provide subject matter technical support and leadership for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and/or construction of transportation infrastructure projects in the public and private sector.
- Perform research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures or structural elements including bridges, roadways, and retaining walls.
- Provide situational guidance to junior engineers ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, structural soundness, and functionality.
- Assist in the management, growth, and development of the company’s bridge design and inspection team.
- Plan, organize and supervise engineering activities on bridge related projects.
- Represent projects and the firm at meetings and conferences.
- Make recommendations on project staffing.
- Assist with technical concepts in proposal development, preliminary design phases, and presentations to client.
- Assure that engineering services are commensurate with professional standards, client requirements, budget control scheduling, cost engineering/control, quality control and project objectives.
- Provide innovative solutions related to the design of bridges, transit structures, and other significant structures required for state highways, county roads, and city streets.
- Solve project problems in a team environment, particularly where project issues and challenges are significantly affected by the proposed structural solutions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Maintain and continue to develop the firm's reputation for technical excellence in bridge engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline (Master’s Degree is a plus).
- 10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience.
- Professional Engineer license required in the State of Ohio (multi-state a plus).
- Highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues.
- Highly proficient with extensive experience in bridge and infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management; including project involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and reconstruction, new design, and construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Experience with planning and conducting inspections and investigations on various aspects of the construction and design of structures, bridges, applying applicable regulations and policies.
- Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, computations, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
- Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Salary/Compensation
- Full Time - $100,000 to $140,000 per year with bonuses.
