Job Summary:
Manages all operational functions of a collection of store names, or stores within a geographical location smaller than a region. Oversees store management in attaining maximum profitability and productivity. Implements and maintain company policies for stores within an area. Conducts recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and appraisals of store management positions. Establishes store level expectations and guidelines. Assist store managers in evaluating sales trends and create methods for sales growth. Monitors cash flow and inventory controls. A Level II Area Manager typically oversees 10 or more stores.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all store operations in assigned area on a daily basis
- Be a role model and administer company policies and procedures
- Establish store level expectations and guidelines
- Assist the managers in evaluating sales trends and create methods for sales growth
- Monitor inventory control and meet inventory goals
- Communicate any ideas or issues with the Regional Manager
- Recruit, hire, train and maintain a quality core staff
- Manage operational budget striving to achieve and exceed store contribution budget
- Remain current on new industry products and trends; demonstrate knowledge of products
- Conduct performance appraisals and coach staff on a regular basis
- Conduct disciplinary actions as needed
- Enforce and train staff on loss prevention policies and techniques
- Create a rewarding environment; generate a team atmosphere
- Conduct weekly manager meetings to reinforce area, regional, and company goals
- Oversee buyer activity for the region
- Set goals for all team members
- Reward and recognize employees
- Approve all expenditures
- Monitor profit margins and react as needed
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years multi-store management experience in the retail industry
- 5 years of direct supervisory experience
- Proficient in MS Office Products; Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced sales environment
- Knowledgeable of customer service and sales techniques
- Organization and planning skills
- Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment
- Team-building skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Preferred:
- Retail or Rental store operation/management experience highly preferred
The expected pay range is $75,000 - $90,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
