Level 1 Trauma facility that offers 16 state-of-the- art operating rooms utilizing advanced cutting-edge technology.
The OR department is separated on two floors to help serve the specific needs of patients. On the 2nd floor, the center focuses on elective cases such as: Pediatrics and Pediatric Orthopedics, ENT, General, and Urology.
On the 3rd floor, there is focus on more complex cases and emergencies. We specialize on TRACS (Trauma Acute Care Services), General, Cardiovascular and Neurology. Rotating shifts encompass call with 24/7 shift coverage.
Develops specialized preoperative plans in coordination with appropriate surgeons and health team members. Prepares surgical tools and equipment, administers intraoperative medications and takes preventative measures to ensure applicable health and safety regulations are satisfied.
Performs responsibilities in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act according to applicable state, institutional policies and procedures of facility, and the Association of Registered Nurses (AORN) Position Statement on RN First Assistants. Practices in collaboration with the surgeon and the health care team in performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. Credentialing through the Allied Health Staff of the organization where you will be working will be required.
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
Minimum of two years' experience in the operating room preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Must be certified by the Certification by the Competency and Credentialing Institute Certification (CCI) for Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR).
