Come join our Behavioral Health team as a Behavioral Health Tech or LPN utilizing a team-based approach to patient care in a fun and supportive work environment.
Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The LPN participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Documents a thorough medical history from patient and performs or helps perform a physical exam to determine patient's needs. Maintains stock of medical tools needed for registered nurse or physician. Counsels patients and family members on prevention and treatment plan for health issues under direction of registered nurse.
The BHT assists in leading groups, including groups for leisure or socialization, exercise, stress management and relaxation skills, daily living skill building, and art therapy. May provide assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident. Assists the patient in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
May completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate. May collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients after completing appropriate laboratory training. Must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the licensed clinical staff. Must be able to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
The LPN must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate's degree in practical nursing is preferred. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements.

If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
