New Jersey Citizen Action Education Fund (NJCAEF) has an immediate opening for a Bilingual Special Projects Manager who can speak both English and Spanish. Under the supervision of the Director of Outreach, Communications, and Marketing (OCM), the manager will coordinate and oversee innovative outreach projects, as well as contribute to the planned outreach activities, that help empower New Jersey communities and give low- and moderate-income communities the opportunities they need to thrive and prosper.
The Special Projects Manager will take the lead on NJ Save, which serves as a one-stop shop that enables seniors and other applicants to sign up for more than a dozen savings and discount programs, as well as the Small Landlord Education Program, which promotes small and multifamily homeownership opportunities to help families and communities in Northern New Jersey build generational wealth.
This full-time position will involve in-person events, travel, and some weekend and evening work, with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Bilingual Community Outreach Coordinator.
- With assistance from the Bilingual Community Outreach Coordinator, coordinate and lead outreach activities for NJ Save. Network with community groups, plan and help staff outreach and tabling events to promote NJ Save and increase enrollment in program.
- Coordinate workflow and assignments for NJ Save navigators, enroll and assist with enrolling program participants.
- Act as liaison and point of contact with NJ Department of Human Service for NJ Save.
- With the assistance of the Director of OCM, prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for NJ Save.
- Oversee and coordinate outreach activities for Small Landlord Education Program. With the assistance from the Bilingual Community Outreach Coordinator, plan, schedule and staff program events and webinars.
- With assistance from NJCA staff, file grant reports as required for Small Landlord Education Program.
- Assist NJCA staff to develop bilingual education and outreach materials including social media content, promotional flyers, fact sheets, and web content.
- Provide Communications team with input on advertising and marketing needs for NJ Save and Small Landlord programs, assist with coordinating organization-wide outreach efforts when able.
- Other duties as assigned including some that support the overall organization.
Qualifications:
- 4 or more years of experience with community, student, labor, tenant, church, and/or political outreach or equivalent experience;
- 4-year degree or equivalent education.
- Excellent written, computer, speaking, and organizational skills required.
- Strong commitment to under-served communities; skilled at relationship-building
- Car, valid NJ driver’s license and insurance required.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish required.
- Self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
Location: The position will be based out of Newark, NJ or Highland Park, NJ office. Hybrid position with some remote work possible.
