Position Description:
We're looking for a talented graphic designer who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. Collaborating with multiple departments across the organization, the graphic designer should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing and be able to find the right style and layout for every project.
Graphic Design:
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with departments on a wide range of materials that may include web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Design engaging and impactful graphics for a variety of platforms, including social media, email campaigns, print materials, presentations, and events.
- Ensure all design elements(fonts, colors, layouts)adhere to brand standards.
- Design layout for reports, brochures, and other publications.
- Maintains the organization’s visual brand guidelines.
- Optimize images and other media for web performance without sacrificing quality.
Other Duties:
- Support website management and ensure content is updated.
- Other duties as assigned to support the Communication and Marketing Department and/or the organization at large.
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Adobe Suite.
- Strong portfolios showcasing a range of graphic design work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with WordPress and basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, or related discipline
- Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
- Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
The anticipated salary range for a non-profit Graphic Designer position is $27.88 - $30.77 an hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
