Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is seeking to add a part-time board eligible/board certified general surgeon to join our Trauma and General Surgery team. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in rural medicine, works well independently, thrives in a flexible work environment, and has a passion for trauma surgery. As part of a strong and collaborative team of other General Surgeons, ED physicians, hospitalists, and RN's, this individual will cover 5 to 10 days per month of ED and trauma call with occasional endoscopy and clinic work as needed. This position has the potential for flexible scheduling. Additional consideration for a candidate who would be interested in also serving as the Trauma Medical Director, leading the team and processes necessary to maintain our Level III trauma designation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of a four-year U.S. allopathic or osteopathic medical school or equivalent
License/Certification:
- Board eligible or board certified in general surgery
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state (s) of practice
- ABS Board Certification or Board Eligible; ongoing MOC certification
- Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program
- Current ACLS and ATLS certification
