Retail Logistics and Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced Retail Logistics and Operations Manager to lead and optimise the movement of stock between retail stores and the warehouse, as well as supporting with logistics and ordering of goods for new store openings. This role requires an expert in supply chain logistics, inventory management, and relationship management with third-party warehouse providers. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using NetSuite for tracking and moving inventory and will have a proven ability to streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Oversee and manage the logistics process of moving goods, including inventory and packaging, between the warehouse and retail stores.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise stock transfers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of inventory.
- Coordinate logistics and ordering of goods (i.e. hangers, mannequins, stationary) for new store openings, ensuring all necessary equipment and items are ordered and delivered on time.
- Supporting with wholesale operations and logistics when required.
Communication and Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for third-party warehouse providers in relation to inventory for retail stores.
- Coordinate with various teams, including retail, finance and merchandising to ensure timings and costs of inventory movement are managed effectively.
- Provide clear communication of inventory updates, delivery schedules, and any operational changes to relevant teams.
- Hold the warehouse accountable for performance metrics such as order accuracy, timelines, and cost.
Technology and Systems Management:
- Use NetSuite to accurately send and manage inventory orders for retail stores from the merchandising team to the warehouse.
- Train and support team members in the effective use of NetSuite and other logistics-related software.
Experience and skills:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail operations, logistics and inventory management, with 1-2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in NetSuite for inventory and logistics management is necessary.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel skills including SUMIFs, VLOOKUP, and Pivot Table.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently without significant supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead change in a dynamic retail environment.
- Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers.
- Ability to be calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
