POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Engineer, Compressed Air Systems, to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial sales, with specific expertise in compressor systems and related equipment. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, building relationships with new and existing Customers, and providing exceptional customer service.
To fulfill the requirements of the position, the incumbent must develop close working relationships and work collaboratively with UCA leadership, Engineering and Technology Manager, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Engineering, Procurement and Commercial Team, Customers, Suppliers, Service Providers and Contractors.
The major challenge of the position is to achieve success through working with a diverse team, delivering on profitable sales growth through a strong network of contacts and prospects while maintaining a close working relationship with vendors, contractors and customers, and ensuring Customer delight from first contact project commissioning.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ø Sales Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory or market segment. Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.
Ø Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key Customers, including facility managers, engineers, and procurement professionals. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of compressed air systems and adjacent technologies, including their features, benefits, and applications. Stay informed about industry trends, competitive products, and technological advancements.
Proposal and Quotation Preparation: Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, quotations, and technical presentations to Customers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to close sales and ensure Customer satisfaction.
Sales Forecasting: Monitor and report on sales performance, market conditions, and competitor activities. Provide regular updates and forecasts to Senior Sales Management.
Customer Support: Provide post-sale support, including troubleshooting, installation coordination, and maintenance follow-up. Address any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, product management, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify potential leads and market opportunities. Analyze customer feedback and industry trends to refine sales strategies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related technical field.
10 to 15 years in sales of compressors or compressed air systems.
Strong understanding of compressor system technologies, applications, and market dynamics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with Customers and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and work independently.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 40% as required.
Certification or training in compressor systems or related fields.
Experience with technical sales and solution-based selling.
Familiarity with controls and automation and related technologies.
