Job Description
The ideal candidate possesses a passion for writing and a strong ability to coordinate with teammates and communicate with clients on the status of campaigns. The successful candidate will oversee the content strategy and coordinate work among a team of writers. This role requires a blend of content creation, strategic planning, and team management to ensure all content meets our SEO and writing standards.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Content Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute content strategies that drive engagement, impressions, awareness, thought leadership, lead generation/nurturing, and lead conversions via blogs, white papers, and infographics.
- Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate work items amongst a team of two other writers, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is maintained.
- Content Creation: Contribute to content creation for a wide range of clients, including highly technical topics (10,000-15,000 words of copy a week).
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a standard of quality in regard to content value, creativity, professionalism, structure, flow, and overall readability.
- SEO Optimization: Check and optimize articles for natural use of SEO keywords, headings, lists, and content that fulfills search intent.
- Peer Editing: Participate in peer editing for both internal and external projects, correcting spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and inconsistencies, ensuring consistent tones between multiple writers and for multiple clients.
- Project Tracking: Use appropriate apps and tools to track projects, streamline workflow, and ensure each finished product is polished.
- Communication: Liaise regularly with writers and directors via video conferencing and messaging software.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Stellar writing, editing, and communication skills.
- A passion for marketing and experience in creating content for organic search and marketing campaigns - ideally in a B2B environment.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to pivot quickly and work on tight deadlines.
- Self-starter who is able to manage your own time and maintain focus in a WFH environment.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and keyword research. Bonus if you have experience using platforms such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, etc.
- Ability to parse analytics and make content recommendations based on performance.
- Comfortable with technology, including a working knowledge of online word processors, video conferencing, search analytics, and SEO research tools.
- Familiarity with task management software, editing software, and website editors is a plus.
Education And Experience
- Bachelors or higher degree in Writing, Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional copywriting experience.
- 1+ years of professional editing experience.
- 1+ years of remote work experience preferred.
