Full-Time Staff Accountant (Including Tax Preparation, Tax Accounting, Tax Review, Trust & Estate Accounting, Some Bookkeeping)

The Job: We are currently seeking a full-time tax accountant for each of our two locations (Ojai and Thousand Oaks, CA). The ideal candidate has a keen understanding of the accounting cycle, at least one to two years’ experience in tax preparation and some knowledge of estate and trust administration/accounting/tax preparation. Familiarity with Lacerte is an extra bonus. Rate of pay is dependent upon experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reporting
- Assist with tax return input and checking
- Tax law research and staying current with ever changing tax laws
- Use of tax software and other proprietary methods to gain expedient understanding of tax return issues and prepare accurate tax returns
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 360 suite of programs… particular emphasis in Excel
- A self-starter & motivated individual
- Ability to identify problems and expediently solve them
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communications skills
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- CPA/EA preferred
- Superlative analytical, quantitative, and social skills

Vacation (roll-over with a cap): First 5 years of employment = 11 days per year

Pay: $62,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
