Responsible to the Site Administrator. The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing center activities to ensure the program meets State Licensing requirements and the National After-school Association Standards.
Essential Functions :
- Supervise and insure the safety and well being of the children at all times.
- Follow curriculum guidelines
- Implement the daily program
- Arrange for field trips
- Keep classroom, storage rooms and bathroom clean, neat and orderly.
- Be familiar with center policies (Parent Handbook)
- Report to Site Administrator any special needs or problems of individual children
- Report to Site Administrator any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings.
- Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline
- Assist in the preparation of breakfast, lunch and snacks
Qualifications : High School diploma, CDA required/AA degree preferred from a college, university, or technical college: including completion of courses in child development education. Minimum of two years experience working in a child care setting. Ability to relate positively with staff, parents, and community. Knowledge of the National After school Association helpful.
