Responsibilities

Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet, bank accounts, ledger accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals for multiple companies.

Process and code invoices for payment and cut checks

Prepare and processes sales Tax and income tax filings.

Timely preparing and distributing monthly financial, balance sheets, month end P&L statements, trial balances, income statements, and cashflow statements,

Provide Food and Beverage costs on a weekly basis, make sure inventories are done weekly.

Process payroll in a timely manner, review for accuracy and posting, monitor payroll cost at all units. Make sure all taxes are paid on time.

Ensure all new accounting team members and hotel managers are familiar with hotel accounting procedures and orientation is completed. Effectively support hotels that need day to day support in the beginning stages. Training to include company payroll standards and declining checkbook, understanding and the preparation of yearly budgets

Monitor all property accounts receivables and use regional managers to get accounts receivable in compliance with company policies.

Supervise and check the work of the income auditor periodically. Be involved in the credit card charge backs, by making sure they are followed through by the income auditor.

Prepare year-end work papers for the assigned companies.

Ensures compliance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Also adhere to Uniform system of accounting USALI.

Job Skills

Compute and record numbers correctly.

Accounting software knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics SL is preferred, but not required.

Follow procedures for keeping records.

Perform work that is routine and detailed.

Read and copy large quantities of numbers without error.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 4 years of relevant work experience.

Hospitality experience preferred but not required.

Understanding of hotel accounting processes including AP, AR, GL, and cash.

Experience reconciling cash, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts.

Experience with general ledger functions, financial statements, and the month-end/year-end closing process.

Prior experience using accounting software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics SL .

Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Strong skills in communication, problem solving, analytics, and organization.

This job will require average hours worked to be 50-55 hours per week.
