Pay Grade: Manager 4

The Business Services Project Manager oversees and manages Business Services projects for construction, renovations, and relocations.

**Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)**

Directs collaborations between vendors and College stakeholders for furniture acquisitions for offices, classrooms and labs for new construction, renovations, reconfigurations and relocations

Forecast plans project needs and deliverables and creates action plans to successfully meet project timelines with the ability to create contingency plans when timelines are changed that are out of the project manager’s control

Plans, coordinates, and oversees furniture and equipment installation with external vendors and internal departments

Prepares and delivers presentations and other documents to provide project status and install information to stakeholders, senior management, team members and others as needed

Develops and executes plans for communicating scope, deliverables, time and success criteria for relocations of personnel, classrooms, labs, offices, etc. across multiple campuses in coordination with Provosts, Chief Campus Officers, Facilities, ITS, warehouse and external vendors as needed

Develops and implements processes for continued development and growth of departmental project management practices and standards

Oversees furniture standards for the College and makes decisions as needed to develop and grow program to ensure consistency and cost saving solutions on all campuses

Oversees furniture inventory for the college and makes decisions as it relates to use of existing furniture, placement of new furniture and creating an effective refresh plan for replacing old or outdated furniture

Verifies furniture and equipment quotes for accuracy prior to submission to the state for approval

Tracks project expenditures and makes adjustments as needed to ensure all projects remain within budget

Represents Business Services at construction meetings to ensure College outfitting needs are addressed from beginning of the project to the end

Creates and designs layouts for classrooms, labs and offices using measurements of existing furniture and equipment to satisfy the requested changes of the stakeholders and administration

Assess issues relating to furniture such as determining if broken, damaged or incomplete and make decisions on how best to proceed for a cost-effective & time-saving solution.

Acquire, understand, and translate departmental needs into an actionable plan

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Intermediate skills with MS Office products, including Excel and Word

Ability to measure spaces accurately

Demonstrate an understanding of PDF floor plans and exhibit the ability to determine best use of space for classroom and office setups

Demonstrated ability to track budget for project purposes

Demonstrated skill in evaluating and developing organizational processes and procedures

Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal skills and work well with others

Ability to collaborate with all levels of management in Facilities, ITS, Procurement departments for project completion.

Ability to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects with minimum supervision

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Exceptional customer and vendor relations skills

Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours as needed for projects

Ability to travel to multiple campus sites

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's Degree

Three years of experience in space planning or managing relocation projects

Two years of project management experience

Supervisory experience

Preferences:

State purchasing experience
