Job Description

MAS Metals is expanding its operations and growing its Estimate team. The Estimator position opening is located in Union City, CA. The qualified candidate will be required to coordinate with the President of business, PMs, subs, and vendors. Communication is the key to success in this position.

Estimator job description:

1. Review all bidding documents, plans, and specs to develop the scope of work and draft the scope letter along with the estimate.

2. Take off all Materials, Labor, and Equipment using excel and companies' estimate standards.

3. Review bid with the President before bid release.

4. Follow up on the bids and participate in the project interview meeting.

5. Maintain relationships with the major vendors, general contractors, and subcontractors.

6. Send out the bid documents to customers in a timely manner.

7. Review CORs and monitor the actual project value during execution.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY:

MUST have the ability to understand plan drawing, Bid documents, design review, and the scopes of all types of projects.
Have a minimum of 3 years of project management experience. Steel industry or civil engineering experience is a "plus."
Experience in the steel industry, steel fabrication, and erection.
Understand the progress of the projects and be capable of determining monthly billing percentages.
Must be a proficient communicator - Verbal direction, negotiating, written communication, Email, and text clarity.
Familiar and working knowledge of Building Connected, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word), Bluebeam, and Acrobat.
Problem solver /Solution Finder / Researcher.
Leadership and Willingness.
Skill testing will be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
