A LITTLE ABOUT US:

We are a 6 year old small animal privately owned 6,000 sq ft practice. We do see some exotics, potentially more if that's what your heart desires! The owner of Island Pet is on the board for Possumwood Acres (one of our local wildlife sanctuaries) and often sees many of their residents. We are looking for a Part-time or Full-time veterinarian. New grads are welcomed! We have 2 wonderful vets that would be GREAT mentors for you!

We are currently building a new 3k sq boarding/grooming/doggy daycare facility. It will be a separate building but it will be on the same property.

A wonderful feature about our location is that we are within 2 miles of the Emerald Isle & Crystal Coast Beaches. Emerald Isle has many beautiful homes with waterfront views and is a close family oriented community. If you prefer the mountains, we are 6 hours away from the mountains of Asheville.

HOURS:

- Mon - Fri 8am to 6pm (Dr's normally leave around 5pm). We are currently open the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 8am - 1pm.

- Appointment times are from 8:30am - 12:00 pm and 1:30pm - 5:00pm. Lunch break is from 12:00pm - 1:300pm.

**We do have a local gym within minutes of the hospital if you are one to hit the gym at lunch! They even have an indoor pool! -- OR you can take a short drive over the bridge and go to the beach.**

WE HAVE ALL OF THE GOODIES!:

- 6 exam rooms, 1 double surgical suite, and 2 wet tables.

- 1 digital xray machine.

- Cornerstone, we are "paper-lite".

- SmartFlow.

- In house Idexx lab machines, to include: Procyte Dx, Catalyst One, Catalyst Dx, Sedivue, Digital Cytology (images are reviewed by a board certified pathologist and results are ready within 2 hours of submission). We also have Truforma which we use for Cortisol Levels and TSH for in-house Thyroid Panels.

- Dental x-rays (which are required for every dental procedure!).

- Ultrasound. We have an assistant that is ultrasound certified and is also certified for Echo’s! We use Oncura for all of our ultrasound & cardiology telemedicine consults. We use Idexx for radiology telemedicine consults.

- Cold Laser Therapy

WHAT ELSE?:

- We use the most up to date surgical protocols for the best possible post-op pain management.

- We follow AAHA guidelines for our vaccine protocols.

- We have an awesome team filled with highly motivated, hard working, and knowledgeable staff. We have 2 LVT, 9 assistants, and 3 receptionists.

- Our doctors work collaboratively with our team members. We have a lot of respect for them and we value their input and ideas.

- There are a minimum of 2 people assigned to 1 doctor at a time. With a minimum of 1 floater available at all times.

- We currently schedule in 30 minute increments. Sick animals and second opinions are allotted more time for their appointment. We DO NOT take walk-ins! We are appointment based only. No after hours emergencies. We do accept drop off appointments for sick appointments.

- We encourage a healthy work/life balance and we believe in setting boundaries! This means you won’t be bothered on your lunch or day off.

- We are family friendly! Many times our staff has had to bring their children to work and we accommodate as best as we can. Parenting is hard work and we do what we can to help.
